ABOUT
Born in Summerside, PEI, trumpeter Dylan Rook Maddix is currently in his third year of the Bachelor of Music program at Mount Allison University. He is principal trumpet of the MtA Wind Ensemble and Brass Choir as well as lead trumpet of the MtA Jazz Ensemble. He is also principal trumpet of the award winning New Brunswick Youth Orchestra. Dylan has performed at the Festivals of Music in New York City, the Rhythms International Music Festival in Ottawa, The National Music Festival, and the Indian River Music Festival in Prince Edward Island.
Dylan recently placed third in the brass category at the National Music Festival, as well as winning a special brass award for his performance.Dylan will be appearing as one of the guest soloists with the PEI Symphony Orchestra for their 2011/2012 season.
Dylan has studied trumpet with Dan St. Amand, Alan Klaus and is currently studying with Dr Linda Pearse. He has also worked with brass performing artists Curtis Dietz, Jens Lindeman, Chase Sanborn, Jeff Nelsen, and most recently Ingrid Jensen.
