ABOUT

We're a female-fronted band called Stone Road. We play originals and covers, from singer/songwriter to jazzy to rootsy stuff. We're looking for a violin player - a new band member (and friend), not a session musician.

We like to play fun tunes that people know and love but they're not sick of - like 9 to 5, Love Will Keep Us Together, Sitting On The Dock of the Bay, All My Lovin', etc. We also do some covers in our own style, like a jazzy Creep by Radiohead, and a 50's-ish I Want You to Want Me. It's all fun. And we also do originals, which are singer/songwriter/jazzy/rootsy.

We have a free place to practice near Bloor & Ossington (for now, moving out soon), and we're looking to play gigs around once a month, and practice around once a week (maybe a bit more before a gig).

You can hear some of our originals here: www.StoneRoadMusic.com - We recorded these in Nov 2010, and we're not entirely happy with them - but it gives you a taste of what we do (although we have newer originals, more singer/songwriter style).

We're all extremely down to earth and good friends. There's no ego and absolutely no room for ego. We just want to have fun and make music with people we like and respect. We're 34, 40 and 40 years old and more into chilling than partying/getting wasted.
