ABOUT

This is one of the groups I'm in:

http://www.kijiji.ca/v-artists-musicians/winnipeg/drummer-wanted-for-rock-band/1210672751

I'm a competent bass player, no Victor Wooten or anything but I can hold down the low end. I can sing some backups, possibly a couple leads if required (that's me singing in the audio clips). If you want to hear more of me check out my page at http://www.reverbnation.com/scottwinslow/

Currently I'm sitting in with a couple jam groups for fun, but not gigging. For the right opportunity I would be interested in getting back out there though.

Influences

All over the place. U2, Simple Minds, Rush... A lot from the 80's, grunge, classic rock, metal. Influences on my playing? Not sure. Bassists I love to listen to: John Entwistle, Stanley Clarke, Jaco Pastorius of course, Jack Bruce, Geddy Lee, Geezer Butler, Victor Wooten, Tony Levin... Groove, dynamics. Like I said, all over the place.

You can only pick a few genres, really didn't know what to say. I like Rock, be it classic, metal, modern, alternative, whatever. Like the blues, funk, you name it. Beat, groove, grit. I've never tried Country, but I wouldn't mind giving that a shot too. Actually, might be fun to do a project around 80s New Wave stuff punched up into more of an Alt-rock thing.

Filling in on bass for the main act, "Something Sanchez", had a great time at Bunn's Creek Park for another "Won't You Be My Neighbour" day!

Kryptonite is back and better than ever, new drummer, new songs, awesome attitude; and we've been invited back for another year at the St. Labre 200!
