Influences
From Pop to Punk, from Classical Indian to Electronica, Rory Dolinski has his hands full… full of drums, that is. Known for his intuitiveness and high energy personality, Rory’s ability to fit into almost any musical situation has always been one of his strongest attributes. Not only is Rory a proficient drummer, but he can also play a wide variety of instruments, and he continues to develop his skills as a song writer and producer.
In 2008 and 2009, you could catch Rory on the road with Pop/Punk rockers “The Transition”, who consistently opened up for fellow rockers “GOB”, or playing Tabla with "The Red Light Monastery" at Vancouver’s world music hot spot Chai, or performing with RnB/Pop artist Andrew Allen who won western Canada’s “Best Up and Coming Artist of 2008”. After moving to Calgary in 2009, Rory has been collaborating with world music improvisor Vi An Diep, and is fusing together with the Gu Zheng Jazz Ensemble. Rory recently worked with the Green Fools Theatre Company in the production “Isis: A Shadow Opera” along side of multi award winning composer David Rhymer.
Rory has had the honour and priviledge to the share the stage with many musicians, some including: The Green Fools Theatre Company, David Rhymer, GOB, The Transition, Andrew Allen, James Hamilton, Vi-An Diep, Lache Cercel and the Roma Swing Ensemble, Fascia(Liverpool), Closure, and Bocephus King.
