WANTED: REM tribute band looking for GUITARIST to play Peter Buck and complete our band. We are in our 40’s and some members have been playing together for 3 years as a pub band (modern rock and classics). We are putting together a full REM show to pay tribute to Mr. Stipe & Co. We practice 1 night during the week in the MAPLE area and expect to play 1 show per month. We are not professionals but we have lots of band and gig experience.
The Guitarist we are looking for doesn’t have to look like Peter Buck, but must know how to play Peter Buck’s style and be able to play (or learn) a wide variety of REM songs since we are playing material from Chronic Town right up to Collapse Into Now. Backing vocal ability would be a plus, as would playing a Rickenbacker guitar and/or a mandolin.
