I've been writing complete songs since I was 5. Songwriting is the most important thing for me, I think. I create all the time. It's very easy for me to write all the parts of a song. I got lucky with my voice. I've been playing nylon-stringed guitar (non-stop) for the past 6 years. My guitar technique is a unique mixture of various styles of finger-picking, strumming and rhythyms. It can be basic or technical but always balanced. I play in a number of different tunings. I enjoy playing hand drums. I am a dedicated fire-dancer. I basically adapted to doing everything myself because I grew up in Calgary for most of my life, which can be a very lonely place for serious musicians! I just moved (back) to Montreal and am looking for a very special musician(s) to collaborate with.
I don't know exactly what type of musician yet, but I think I'll know when I find you. Some rough ideas I've had... a cellist, an electronica artist/DJ/sound engineer, a keyboardist/pianist, another guitarist, some guy who can sing AND play whatever instrument, definately someone who is creative, unique, and has a great "look". You're preferably male, to give us a balanced dynamic (to stand out since a co-ed duo is pretty rare), but if you're an awesome girl and we have chemistry, well that's great too :) I think I'm only looking for one (or two) musicians to make a mini-group, but if I find a band that rules, then I'll go with the flow.
I do know this: I'm looking for someone with considerable skill, creativity and dedication, who is happy to do MAINSTREAM AS WELL AS NON MAINSTREAM. I can be freakier than Bjork or pop as Dido and I really want to give myself the best chance in the music industry, so being open minded enough to explore (and fuse!) different genres is vital (unless this is a full band with a specific genre).
I can jam whenever, day or night, 7 days a week. I have devoted myself.
click "back" on your browser IF... you are homophobic, abuse alcohol, snort stuff, do meth, etc. I'm quite wild/alternative but I'm also looking forward to a healthy and sustainable music career. If you do some psychadelic whatnot on the *rare* occasion that's ok but for the vast majority of the time, please be sober. I know you're a rockstar but our music career doesn't have to be a flailing substance-abuse party.
being vegan or vegetarian isn't necessary but we would be able share meals when on tour :)

Influences
I am a fusion of fusions of fusions. I'm so fused, that I don't even know my general genre. BUT I can defuse myself for projects with specific genres.
EQUIPMENT
3 NYLON-STRINGED guitars of different tonality (bright, booming, and deep), 1 vintage Aria bass, 3 djembes, 1 set of tablas, 1 fender accoustasonic amp for shows, 1 little traynor amp for street performing, mbox2/protools, RhodeK2 studio condensor mic, AKG K240 headphones, and a mean set of vocal pipes. This week I am getting a MicroBR. O and the most hi-tech tambourine in the world. And I have a spare harmonica if you forget yours at home.
