Recently moved back to Toronto where I've been musically active in the past. 35 years old, dedicated to music writing, recording, performing
. I'd like to get involved in a working band (playing original material) who currently are or will be performing fairly regularly in the new year. I'm available to rehearse 2 times a week. I am willing to chip in for rehearsal room costs all depending on if I'm granted creative input & fair musical space within the material we are focussed on.
I prefer to play gigs that pay in $ as opposed to beer at this point. I can be a very focussed, self motivated and enthusiastic band mate especially if I love the material we play and even more so if I'm working with a group of folks who are creatively collaborative.

Experience
I have rehearsed, gigged, recorded with several performing. T.O. groups over the years, some you've heard of some you haven't. Have done plenty of pro studio and not so pro studio recording. Cross country toured a bunch Canada & U.S.

Influences

Folks have mentioned Elvis Costello in the past when trying to relate to my playing style. I was generally raised on 60's rock/pop/r&b/folk/psych as well as 80's to 90's sonic youth, talking heads, r.e.m., nirvana, flaming lips. Leading with emphasis on Rhythm as opposed to Lead Guitar Hero is how I see myself. Not to focussed on current music (for better or for worse) but have followed each release by Vampire Weekend over the years and i defintely enjoy & relate to them musically. I also enjoy playing gentler styles and am not afraid of a more minimalist approach (popul vuh, leonard cohen, satie inspired noodlings, subtle film instrumental backgrounds etc,.)

I play Electric & Acoustic 6 string (both in standard tuning and a Nashville custom tuning)
Electric 12 string,
Electric baritone,
recently acquired and learning Lap Steel in a Hawaiian style using 6th chord tuning only
I have my own amp which is suitable for gigs.

Electric Fretless 4 string bass,
