I'm looking to start a new band. My new songs are less folk based (more bluegrass, country, rock, folk, pop, jazz, funk, soul etc) than in previous bands. I have a lead guitarist/bassist/banjo dabbler ready, but we need a drummer to really figure out which songs work as a single project.
As a person, we're looking for someone who is easy to get along with (as we are). In a drummer, we mainly need someone who is extremely versatile. Need to be able to play different styles, but also know when to provide something minimal/atmospheric, when to provide solid backup and when to ramp up the energy/noise. We want someone with 'big ears' who can communicate with other seasoned musicians. We have a lot of fun interacting and developing our songs and are itching to play some gigs.
