After moving away from his hometown in Toronto Ontario and after stepping away from music for several years Luis Calderon came to rediscover his passion for music upon his return to Canada. From this time Luis has been studying and training his voice under the care of a vocal coach helping Luis develop both a solid foundation and a strong understanding of the art of singing. Luis enjoys exploring all the various styles of musical expression but is most at home with the sweet sound of the brass horns playing Jazz Swing.
As a lover of Jazz, Luis carefully studies the great masters of swing striving to develop his style of musical expression. In particular, Luis is a dedicated student of the masters such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Bobby Darin. One of Luis’ main objectives is to share his musical talent with others while blending his style of jazz singing with the music of a live jazz band. The music that you hear playing in the background are recordings of Luis performing two of his favorite Jazz tunes.
