Whats up ya'll! im an ambitious bass player lookin to form a band. I love my bass guitar its my favorite hobby!!! I think it would be awesome to form a all colored band (not saying that if you Caucasian i won't jam with you), However i really think it would be cool to show the world that colored people can rock to! Its time for innovation!!! I think its lame how most brothers are stuck in this "im black so ive gotta rap" dude thats lame. I love hip hop but why subject myself to being another stereotype!?
I have recently been involved with a locally successful band for the past year and a bit. We've done shows and all that fun stuff. However i have recently decided to make a departure. Style of play is greasy, edgy, psychedelic alternative funk style rock. Not gonna lie, its pretty mean stuff! Being in this band there has been many ups and challenges. I've learned how to conduct myself as a working musician, How to come up with and aid music creatively with others who may have different musical tastes, and how to set up and market shows some what effectively! I've also learned unfortunately (the hard way) the importance and effect of "proper" practice with and with out a band.
