SEEKING
Vocalist.ABOUT
Newly established Journey tribute band is seeking our 'Steve Perry' lead vocalist.
I'm the guitar player in this tribute band assembling the musicians to form a 'quality' Journey tribute act in the Toronto/Mississauga area. We are currently guitar, keyboards bass & drums.
- The goal of this project is to play the music of Journey, live at local venues in the GTA (both indoor and out) about once a month.
- We are not looking to go on the road as we all have full time jobs.
- The current four members are dedicated, accomplished musicians who take great pride in both their sound and attention to detail. We enjoy the craft of rehearsing together and the results we achieve. We don't rush anything just to say we are playing out.
- We don’t ‘jam’…..Never really understood it. Time is everything to us so we like to approach ‘band practices’ as our ‘team get-together’ to work on specifics. We collectively agree as to what songs we will learn for our next practice. On our own time at home, we learn those songs and then bring it for our next ‘team get-together’.
- We have the luxury of a 24/7 rehearsal space at our keyboard player's home. This 'free' space allows us to rehearse whenever we want and also keep our gear setup around the clock.
(Our drummer has two e-kits, one stays at our rehearsal space and one kit stays at his home)
- We are all admittedly "gear pigs". We've taken over the basement !
- To truly emulate this music requires the massive analog/digital MIDI synth setup of both Gregg Rolie & Jonathan Cain of Journey. We have this stereo gear.
- To emulate that Neal Schon sound requires Fractal Audio and Fernandes sustainer modifications. We have this stereo guitar setup.
- To control the potential overwhelming bleed of acoustic drums, we use Roland electronic V-Drums. Stereo again.
- We obviously rehearse and will perform live in stereo.
- Currently each member has his own "independent" stereo monitor mix (stereo floor monitors and/or in-ear monitors)
- We also have a suspended main PA speaker system with sub woofer.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by!
