This one is about Port Dover during the days of prohibition. They originally used fishing tugs to move Seagrams whiskey across the lake to Erie PA, then turned to speedboats when that was shut down by Sheriff Brown, who was a real guy that really did deputize the husbands of the Women's Christian Temperance Union. The Grey Ghosts had 2X 500 HP Liberty aircraft engines and could do 60 MPH empty - and that was in the late 1920s! On a good night they could do 3 trips of 100 cases each. Customs paperwork was done for every load, but the men involved were in town every day. They called the operation going out for "midnight herring."

ABOUT

My instrument of choice is mandolin (or other "mando-family" like mandola, bouzouki, tenor banjo and tenor guitar), but I also play guitar and some bass and percussion.

I like playing a wide variety of music styles from folk to jazz, bluegrass, celtic, rock and blues. Interested in playing a few gigs, or helping with any recording projects. I play a lot of different instruments to add colour to recordings. I also have some original songs that I will probably never record.

Mandolin, 4 and 5 string electric mandolins, mandola, tenor banjo, tenor guitar, guitar, and bass. Don't currently have an octave mandolin but could get back into one for the right project.
