ABOUT

I have been actively playing the drums for nearly 40 years.

I have recorded albums with In Mynd (1995), an original rock band from Ottawa, as well as for Jimmy Ray Todd (2014), an original blues-southern rock act.

Over the years, I've played in numerous Blues and Rock bands, performing regularly and consistently at many clubs, parties and music festivals. Since 1999 I have focused mainly on the Blues genre, most recently playing with Blues Highway, a longstanding favourite in the 1000 Islands region and the Boxcar Jumpers a recent startup in Kingston Ontario. I'm also a regular “sit-in” with River City Junction, another huge Blues-Rock-Original favorite in the region with a 200 show-per-year schedule. Currently, I'm in the Higher Ground Band out of Brockville, a 70's and 80's party/dance band - what a blast!!

I have a spacious heated/AC rehearsal hall with PA and bass and keyboard amps in Brockville.

Influences

Influenced early on by Neil Peart (Rush), Phil Ehart (Kansas) and Billy Cobham, later by Omar Hakim and Bill Steward, and most recently by Billy Martin (MMW), Tom Brechtlein (Robben Ford) and Greg Critchley (Kim Mitchell), I have developed a fine understanding of groove and work closely with the bass player to deliver a rock solid rhythm for the band to build on.
