Johnny Sixstring, of weloverocknpop.com says:
"Jeff’s approach very much reminds me of an early Billy Joel . . . he expresses hope, he expresses sadness and his lyrics are saturated with feeling . . . it's a smooth, tender expression [that] strikes for the heart. If you still haven’t heard at least one of [his songs] by the end of the day you’re missing out . . ."
William McGuirk, of Scene and Heard says:
"JAG plays piano with a theatrical flair in the classic tradition of Rufus Wainwright, Elton John, Queen and Tori Amos. His take on Don't Dream Its Over, originally by Crowded House, is a prime example of his ability to put his personal stamp on to a work"

His new album, "Great Expectations" is a blend of pop, rock and jazz featuring some of the best Canadian musical talent in Toronto: Noah Zacharin (guitar) and Mark Zubek (guitar, bass, drums and percussion), as well as many gifted up-and-coming musicians such as Chino De Villa (K.C. Roberts) and Ben Miller (God Made Me Funky).
Produced by j.a.g. and mixed and mastered by Mark Zubek, the album took five years to complete during a wild roller-coaster ride that included a major relationship breakup, a serious vocal injury, funding challenges and a crooked New York promoter walking away with part of the album funding.

Jeff has been playing piano since the age of 3, and writing and singing for almost as long. Well-known on the Toronto music scene as both a singer/songwriter and a keyboard player for the likes of indie darlings Cai.ro (http://www.wearecairo.com/) and Marcus Walker, he has played many venues such as C'est What, the Supermarket, the Trane Studio and the Distillery District as a solo performer.
His music has sparked comparisons to early Billy Joel and Elton John, Jamie Cullum and Ben Folds. But a deeper listen will unearth elements of XTC, Tori Amos and Sarah MacLachlan, among many others.
"I grew up listening to early Billy Joel, Supertramp, Squeeze, XTC, and a lot of 80s bands", says Jeff. "I think that reflects in my songs - I try to make them complex enough to be interesting, both lyrically and musically, so that they hopefully provide multiple listening sessions".
Formally educated in jazz piano and arranging at Humber College, Jeff studied with such renowned pianists as Dave Restivo and Canadian jazz great, Bernie Senensky. Senensky says:
"Jeff is a talented singer/songwriter who draws on many different styles in his writing, and his original material is very creative, unique, and professional".
Jeff has worked in the studio with such producers/engineers as Mark Zubek (Blaise Pascal, Crash Test Dummies) and Jeremy Darby (former live engineer for U2, Pink Floyd and Prince).
His talents have been recognized with a FACTOR Canada New Talent Award, a profile on Rogers, two honorable mentions in the UNISONG international songwriting contest and an honorable mention for his song "Cavalry" in the international Song Of The Year contest.
He is currently doing promotional shows for his new album, "Great Expectations" and is available for performances, reviews and interviews.
