My name is Dan and I'm looking for musicians to form a band with. I have a decent amount of original music that needs to be played live. What I am looking for is a group of people that click with my style and can contribute to being a collaborative band. I am a vocalist/song writer first and a guitarist second.
I don't have aspirations to be a solo act and despite the fact that I want to be writing certain material (lyrics, melodies and rhythm guitar) I would prefer to have the instrumentalist play and write their parts... I am not a drummer or bassist natively, so I think it's best those parts be written by those musicians.
One very important thing is that I find people that are on a similar wavelength musically. Nothing is less productive than playing/writing with people that are on different pages.
As for live gigs, most of the music I want to play is not well translated to 1 guitar and a singer. I do the odd open mic for the purpose of at least playing something.

From Ottis Redding to Tobacco, Breeders to Lianne La Havas.. Most genres offer something good.
