Halton JAZZ Singers is an adult jazz vocal group of musician singers capable of sight-reading 4 part vocal charts (Sound Music Publications, Hal Leonard, Kerry Marsh, Greg Jasperse, New York Voices, Manhattan Transfer style of music). To 'keep our options portable & open, for now, we use digital show trax which means that we have our own sound system & we blue tooth into it with the MP3/WAVE instrumental show trax.
The group is an association "Not for Profit" - everyone works full time at a paying career and we do this because it's our passion!
Plan is to do Jazz festivals and open mic sessions as we gel & improve. "Google Halton JAZZ Singers" or Halton Jazz Choir Singers" (we removed the word 'choir' 'cause it just isn't so! lol!
We do both a cappella (lots of Gershwin, Johnny Mercer, Phil Mattson pieces) and instrumental accompaniment; we would love to have our own trio .... someday!
