Young lady from Red Deer/Calgary area who wants to start up a project or even join one that's already established. Looking to make folky/alternative/electronic music.
I don't read music, I can read guitar and drum tablature but tend to play most things by ear, same goes for the vocals (I love love love harmonies/harmonizing). While I've mainly been playing my Martin acoustic lately (lots of finger-picking), I'm just as in love with the sound of a good 'ol (or new) American Strat or an earthy, gritty-sounding hollow-body. When it comes to the electric, I'm a fan of experimenting with ambient/abstract effects, but I DO know there's a difference between tasteful and overdoing it.
I was with a band in Edmonton for some time last year but ended up moving back to Red Deer. We toured across Canada all the way to Toronto, so I have some gig and tour experience. Though I live in Red Deer, I'm constantly visiting friends in Calgary so getting to-and-from isn't an issue).
