ABOUT

I am 19 years old and have been drumming for around 4 years, I have played music in my high school band and have played live a few times. I am searching for musicians interested in making music without conventional song structure, interludes of different music styles fused into songs, but with a solid head bopping beat. I would be very excited to contribute to the electronic aspect of a group as well, as I own Ableton and have some savvy with some synthesizer style machines. Open mindedness to trying different music is important to me, I don't want people coming in commanding everyone, I want people chalk full of ideas and ambition, and with the humility to know everyone of their ideas isn't the best, as I am aware of myself. I believe honesty is very productive in bands, the ability to say that something someone else made sucks and they can agree or at least debate about it. I will treat others with the same respect. I'm searching for variety in my music and wish to have alot of electronic and ambient power behind the music, but I do also enjoy faster pace music quite alot with bassy solid beats. Either way I'm looking for someone who wants to make some sick music for the love of music and making others feel a certain way with it. I'm not chasing success nor am I trying to say anything definitive, I just wanna make music with some like minded people.

Influences

I'm influenced by the drumming of John Stanier of Battles, Nick of A textbook tragedy, Don Caballero, hip-hop, I'm down with rockier style such as Dandy Warhols. I have just recently been infatuated with heavy glitch-hop and glitch electronic lately, and would not be opposed to making entire electronic tracks, void of acoustic drums. Some of the music that I enjoy alot are bands and DJs such as The Mars Volta, Radiohead, The Black Keys, The Sound of Animals Fighting, Tera Melos, MGMT, Justice, Four Tet, Beck, Amon Tobin, Boreta, The Glitch Mob, Black Sun Empire, Aesop Rock, Atmosphere, Sage Francis, Scratch Perverts, Eyedea & Abilities, Modest Mouse, Mogwai, Grizzly Bear, Beck, of Montreal, Chemical Brothers, Cut Chemist, DJ Shadow, Prime Cuts, DJ Q-bert, Destroyer.

EQUIPMENT

I have a Pearl Vision set, I use the second rack tom and a floor tom. I have AAX Sabian cymbals including a hi-hat, 16" crash, 20" crash, 20" ride, and a 10" splash. single kick for the moment but I'm picking up some double kicks from my other home soon. I also own a set of turntables, but I wouldn't consider that a main instrument of mine, but I'd be mroe than down to integrate them into our music.
