First worked professionally within the music business at the age of sixteen, playing with live bands as a guitarist. Throughout my teens and early twenties, went on to become an arranger, songwriter, and session musician at Halifax's Black Water Sounds, a startup studio / label. There I worked closely with the in-house producers as a young musician and songwriter, and soon developed an understanding of a producer’s role within the recording process. By my early twenties, I was co-producing clients records, involving myself in every stage of recordings, from pre-production in the rehearsal studio, through to the finishing touches in mastering.
From there I moved on to the Technical Lead / Engineer at the now defunct Instramentalyst.com, a early live music streaming company, where live music would be broadcast from the Instramentalyst studios over the internet, a new concept in its time.
I then spent several years on and off the road, with the Storytellers, as the frontman, guitar, and primary songwriter, the Van Go’s as the bass player, and the hip hop group Prime Time, as, DJ – with an electric guitar, and engineer.
I've been styled as a Fusion guitarist, however I consider myself more of a blues-rock kind of player. My goal is to always serve the song, so if it needs blinding fast speed and sweep picking runs or soulful single string melodies, my goal is to always find the part that fits.
I'm also extremely non-competitive, and will not take part in "band drama".
I am available for session work as well, and I do operate my own project studio where I write, record, and produce bands and singer-songwriters.
