Carl Saffira began playing piano at age 4. He won best composer and best arranger awards at stage band festivals. Was youngest musician to play at the Monterrey Jaz Festival. Studied orchestration with Aaron Copland and Dave Raksin. He has produced soundtracks and a CD of original underwater-jazz music.
