ABOUT

Wanted - Bassist for cover recording, original writing/recording/promoting band.

You don't have to be retired to love Classic Rock!

Age is merely a frame of reference.

Classic Rock is where it all began, and like all great things, it comes back full circle.

Using cover songs to gel and build our foundation, we create a history for the band by playing some bar and event gigs, recording audio and video and pimping it on YouTube and distributing through other avenues we have by and tapping into our skills and resources we have.

Please don't be intimidated by the scope of the project.

If you think you can, you just may be correct.

Reading and a general understanding this ad is a prerequisite to the next step.

We are looking for bassists that love the Masters of Rock, and who appreciates the few groups today that have roots in, and the groups that hold DNA from the 60's, and 70's.

Words are cheap until you put those words to music.

Before you question your commitment to read this or reply, keep in mind:

- A sense of humor goes a long way as judgmental people find morons where ever they go
- We don't claim to know it all.
- We are being facetious in what we say here with a pinch of truth and a dash of grey-line stereotypes

Respondents must have access to the internet for easy communication with group members.

Having a Smartphone with text messaging and/or WhatsApp is a necessity.

You must have your own vehicle, your own instruments, and its accessories, have a day-job, and available for bi-monthly practice.

You might have stage experience. You don't have to possess much.

You should live within an hours’ drive of North York. (Believe me, a longer trip is a pain. We currently jam at The Sound)

A positive attitude is key to fluid relations in our group.

If you believe in success and work towards it with communication, intelligence and willingness for action; success will be yours.

If you believe that you will most-defiantly fail and the world is against you, you will receive exactly what you believe and nothing will work out for the best.

Luck does not come to those not prepared to receive.

If you have no authentic desire, no product, no delivery system, and no audience, how can you find or be offered opportunity?

We have a plan and the talent, but we need you.

We work a professional day jobs and some of us have young families, so we don't intend to do anything rash without just cause.

With the right team of educated, professional and open-minded individuals with intent to focus, contribute, and build; within a year, we should have product, and a history to promote and use it as a vehicle towards mainstream music.

Obviously, talent and desire to achieve is a very important part of being successful.

Calculated risk is a factor.

When the moment is right, we will recognize it and act accordingly.

We currently have a drummer 50, Lead Guitar 31 , co lead 34, and main vocalist 37.

We are also looking to add a keyboardist that plays guitar.

You will find all descriptions of the positions used, so you can imagine the team.

Lead Guitarist - You know that playing covers gives you commonality with the community. You learned to play Smoke on the Water as your first song. You want to do your own thing, but don't want to insult a signature rift. You know that the intro to “Don't Stop Believing” needs to be pretty well spot on and all else is a controlled adventure. We have no intention of asking to play it though. You pay respect to the foundation of the original artist who wrote it and create your own interpretation on that. You play well and are proud of yourself. You should be! Look what you can do! Your fingers hurt. Fingers... Hurt.. You have an ego, but your humility brings you back down to earth. You know Classic Rock, have played many of those songs in your time and you can shred those iconic solos. If you can be rationalized with and understand that an elephant is a sum of its parts and not its single parts alone, you may be what we am looking for.

You may have a co-lead sharing the spotlight. Can you handle that?

Co-Lead Guitarist - Depending on how good you are, you will share the same description as above. You may not be as proficient as the other guitarist but you know how to share the in the sandbox and won't be intimidated by another impressive being. If you play other instruments, you are wicked-cool-awesome.

Keyboardist with rhythm guitar - Not every song calls for piano, though any song can be transposed into any sound, or padded with accompanying shots. We will have a full room and a full stage. The idea is not to support ourselves with bar gigs. Quality music demands sufficient number of instruments. Bill it, and they will fund. Lol! Classic Rock piano is not much like Classical Piano, even though the name sounds the same. Classic Rock is simple compared to Classical. Don't over complicate things and don't sweat it. If you are a virtuoso, let your limitations govern your presentation. Do your thing. Your band-mates will help you find your place. Your job could be to play as detailed as a guitarist, or for filler as an accompaniment. You still will be just as important. Let’s chat. Pink Floyd anyone?

Bass Guitarist - You drive the band, and we don't mean driving the van, rather, you are the foundation of the music. You are not afraid to rattle bones. You understand and enjoy Classic Rock, and would be interested in writing original bass lines. Ideally, you would be immersed in music, just as much as a guitarist and can follow the guitarists and your buddy, the drummer, while receiving and giving instruction. You would have likely played guitar at some point in your life and can understand a guitarist’s head-space.

Drummer - You know that soft and loud are techniques on drums and that you can play in different styles. You laugh when you’re told there is such thing as turning down the volume on, or tuning drums and do it anyway. You have a good meter in your head, as well as a creative drive. You drive the band too, but usually that is because you have a van to move your equipment and not in the literal sense..... And, it sucks how you always get listed last. :(
Not today!

The band-lead is a vocalist. He is a pretty good mimic, and has a good head on his shoulders and the plan to succeed. He has been around, but not so much as to be jaded or make him a diva. He has his own sound in the lower ranges; sort of a Bon Jovi feel, but possesses a high range as well for songs like Sweet Child or Hotel. He has a business and sales background, as well as many facets of the computer industry, and has access to resources that await a product to attach to.

Please find the following samples of the lead vocalist. (copy paste)
