I'm a 22 year old full time musician, just trying to make a living as a session musician and side-man. I am NOT looking to join an original band looking to "make it big" by touring around in a van and making no money. This is not to say I'm against touring, I just won't do it that way anymore! I'm fluent at several styles, instruments, know my theory, and improvise well. Hire me if you need a back up musician for a gig or recording session! I also like to dabble in arrange, ment and producing, but producing in the old sense, making songs better, NOT engineering... I am not a techie! Influences
The obvious ones like the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, some indie/folk like The Decemberists, Hawksley Workman, some roots/country like Matt Mays, Wilco, Jason Collet, some folk/bluegrass like Sarah Harmer, Corb Lund...it all depends on the instrument. You know when I practice mandolin I obviously like to listen to bluegrass a little more...also like more jazz lately as I get more into jazz guitar playing. I dig lots of music. EQUIPMENT
Hmmm....for guitars I havea few telecasters, an Eppi Sheraton, a Danolectro, Takamine acoustic/elec half body, and Eppihone Jumbo acoustic/electric, Eppi acous/elec mandolin, Tradition banjo, A Yamaha SK20 synth (amazing Hammond B3 sound), a Korg elec piano (old but cool), just got rid of my Rhodes but have access to one still. Amps I have a 1968 Traynor all tube head that I play through a Marshall 2x12 1936 cab, I have a custom made Fender Deluxe 2x12 tube combo, an old Sears amp from the 50's, a bastardized '79 Fender Concert series that has been gutted and made into a head, I would like to put it back together someday...I have a small bass amp suitable for practicing only, a Yorkville bass amp somewhere...an old Yorkville PA, an old drum set...lots of harmonicas, percussion toys etc etc
