ABOUT

I'm a generalist as a musician as opposed to being a specialist of one instrument.
Thus, I'd love to meet another generalist to develop into a duo or small band in the NW Calg area; but realistically, I will consider all venues!
Currently doing art shows weddings dinners etc.
For studio work I can supply a ref list of who I've recorded with.
I have 12-18 original compositions but until I understand copyright issues, am reluctant.

I am also singing show tunes/ covers/ etc. with Concordia chorus (quarterly performances/yr.).

I have lots of stage experience, have even sung 1x@ @ jack singer hall and jubilee auditorium in Edmonton, have played with various other churches and bands - done solo work @ coffee houses - art shows -Xmas & kids concerts, weddings etc. - even busking in Canmore & Banff.

Short term low paying sets/gigs are ok. ( ps...is anyone making money as a muse? My "income" goes to strings & equipment )

I've compiled a reference binder containing about 100+ songs from various cover tune artists, mainly used to assist compiling a ragtag band for performing for various fund raisers and charities like United Way etc. So, I'm sure we'll find something in common to start off jamming with!

Because I sight read musical notation in both clefs, give me the music and a utube link and we can begin to move on....thus for live perf I'm not into total accuracy of the original, some improv keeps it fun. in fact, my vidio's are purposefully unrehearsed. The issue is can you keep going in a performance setting.
However, for studio work I'll work as required, not my favorite but - has to be done.

I like to think i do something of everything except metal and rap. (& now that I'm a Calgarian will have to increase my C&W content).

EQUIPMENT

ME - being retired have lots of time to play. I tend to practice 1-2 hr/ day. I rate myself as "moderate" because if I figure modesty is virtuous.... (& I've had some "non-family"audiences say I'm good, &, I've never been thrown out of a band - or a venue - if this info helps u @ all)
