ABOUT

Babylon Has Fallen started as an untitled concept. It was a simple idea I had about doing a recording project with all my personal songs. It was an idea I had no chance, or time, to explore while I was still fronting my former band; however, it was still in the back of my head just waiting to crawl out. When the band had some personal issues and we parted ways I was left with no outlet for my writing or my musical aspirations. At this point the project became something more tangable. By the time I did some planing, and really thought about what it was I wanted to do and achieve, it was no longer such a little idea.

Now that I knew I was serious about what I was doing, and had a clear and defined idea of what I wanted, I knew I needed to enlist the help of my friend and musician Kirk Harber. After a few conversations and some demoing we decided on eight songs and things got underway. It was a long and sometimes draining process, a year of off and on work, the best and worst of moments, and a whole lot of learning but in the end the record was recorded. Once recorded, Kirk introduced me to D'Arcy McGillian. It was with D'arcy's knowledge, experience, and industry insight that Hallelujah was taken to the next level.

The name of 'Babylon Has Fallen' was inspired by a photo shoot project by Kate Gardener, a talented photographer and one of my best friends. While shooting, she had an amazing idea for a picture incorporating local graffiti; a picture which would end up as both the inspiration for the project and the graphics of the record. Without her I would never have had the motivation or the courage to undertake this project.
