ABOUT

Ariane Morin is a passionate and creative saxophonist from Montreal. She has a unique approach to Klezmer, Balkan and Turkish music with her recognizable sensitivity.
Through her regular travels to New-York, Istanbul and Plovdiv, she actively developed her own musical language by studying with many reknowned teachers, notably with Ismail Lumanovski Ramazan Sesler and Petar Voynikov. These last years, she spent months in Istanbul, Turkey, to learn makam theory with the purpose of bringing a new flavor into her music. She performs in festivals and concert venues in North America and Turkey with her own ensembles Ihtimanska (Bulgarian-Turkish creative duo), Loti (Turkish trio) and as a guest artist with various group and outstanding musicians such as Fanfare Severni, Matt Darriau, Ismail Fencioğlu and more. She often plays klezmer for the jewish community in Québec.
